I sent out the above tweet yesterday afternoon. Lots of teachers are not doing well.Check out some of the scores of replies:
Oh my gosh. It’s endless. There is no escape.

We are barely making it. Husband is a principal and our 2 and 5 year olds DO NOT CARE A LICK ABOUT OUR FULL TIME JOBS.

Some NPR commentator called it "the spin cycle of days." For all of us working at home now means emails, calls, texts, meetings, and classes happen at all times of the day and weekend. The workday has no boundaries. Time for some new norms!

Thanks for noticing! This conversation is not happening enough. My wife and I are barely holding on. I’m grateful my principal is understanding and compassionate.

25 years in teaching and this is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. ‘Teach’ with a 6 & 8 year old at home.

Thank you for saying that. I have an 18, 15, and 13 year old and I have 3 preps every day and 5 classes

I find solace in the fact so many others are on the struggle bus. It. Is. Hard.

There’s a lot of this happening (on both sides of the camera). But I didn’t take a picture of me crying and screaming because I didn’t think it would be very professional. pic.twitter.com/Uy3wiv6jTd

We are not handling it! We are pulling our hair out!

The amount of work is incredible. I thought it would be less hectic with the kids in their own homes instead of physically at school ~ but it isn’t.

That’s exactly how I’m feeling! It’s like I can never turn it off. So overwhelming.

I'm a teacher, and my experience is similar. It feels like day-long, nonstop, online connections. I'm overwhelmed.

Same here in Portugal. Almost 200 students to keep in touch with, countless emails from fellow teachers and parents, Meet lessons starting next week… but no kids at home! In spite of the boost in IT skills, I really miss my classroom!
