I do lots of professional development sessions for our school, but I don’t often do webinars or professional development elsewhere because of all my teaching and writing commitments (and my usual basketball-playing responsibilities when we’re not under stay-at-home orders 🙂 ).

However, I could never refuse a request from the extraordinary American Federation of Teachers leader Giselle Lundy-Ponce.

So, join Join Diane Staehr Fenner from SupportEd; Lydia Breiseth with ColorĂn Colorado and me for a free ShareMyLesson webinar on the challenges of distance learning during the Coronavirus Pandemic on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at 3:00 pm Eastern time.

Here’s how it is described:

The challenges of the global COVID-19 pandemic are many. Although distance learning has quickly become the default solution for the more than 54 million students displaced by school closures, it is estimated that 25-50 percent of the 5 million English language learners around the country either do not have the appropriate technology devices needed for online learning or access to the internet. Join us to learn more about some best practices we are seeing thus far for both groups of ELLs—those with Internet access and those without.
