The Sacramento County Office of Education today released their guidelines for re-opening schools in the fall.

You can read about it at the Sacramento Bee article, Sports canceled. Students in masks. Sacramento health officials urge big changes for schools.

That article also has embedded the entire report which, as far as I can tell, is the only place you can get it right now. I called SCOE’s office, and they couldn’t tell me when it would be uploaded to their website.

SCOE has never been very union-friendly, and the quote at the top of this post tells you that hasn’t changed.

The guidelines themselves seem similar to the guidelines that most places are publishing. And, like in most places, nobody is really going to be able decide on a plan until July.

On a different note, I learned today that one district is considering doing what many are thinking about – just having one-fourth of their students on campus each day. But, instead of having the other students working asynchronously, they are considering having all the other students actually view the classes live remotely when they’re not on campus. Interesting.
