If we high school teachers weren’t feeling bad enough thinking about what the fall might bring, a new study from UNESCO may make us all feel worse.

Ed Week’s article about it, Part of Global Trend, 1 in 3 U.S. High Schoolers Felt Disconnected From School Before Pandemic, provides a good summary, and the textbox at the top of this blog highlights the “lowlight” of it.

I think it’s a safe bet that school closures might lead to an even higher percentage of students feeling disconnected.

It re-emphasizes my post from two days ago, A Look Back: Survey Says Students Mostly Feel “Tired, Stressed & Bored ” (In That Order) At High School.

And all the more reason we should take the advice at THE BEST RESOURCES FOR LEARNING HOW TO PROMOTE A SENSE OF “BELONGING” AT SCHOOL to heart.
