Canva has so many tools in one that it’s one of the most versatile apps on the Internet.

However, it has has one major shortcoming – the inability to collaborate in “real-time.”  You could have others work on a project with you, but only one person could work on it at the same time.

Especially during this pandemic, this inability makes it less attractive to have teachers encourage students to use it and, instead,  have them work with other tools (see The Best Online Tools Students Can Use Collaboratively To Create Projects).

Happily, this is changing.

They’re starting today with bringing that real-time collaborative ability to what they call their “brainstorm templates.”

That’s not very helpful.

What is helpful, however, is this other line that accompanied the announcement:

Real-time collaboration is the ultimate creative collaboration tool that we’re soon rolling out across the entire Canva platform.

Yay!
