Well, this is depressing and unsurprising – who would have guessed that it appears teachers may have higher rates of COIVD infection than others in their cities ( COVID cases among teachers appear to be rising. What does that mean?) ?

Just because they are surrounded each day by many young people who might not be diligent at respecting social distancing and safety precautions?

Just because they are working in many facilities that have poor ventilation systems?

Just because their districts often don’t have particularly impressive cleaning systems, including never hiring enough custodians because they figure teachers will pick up the slack?

Shocking!

Addendum: I made minor changes in the wording of the headline, which originally said “Are” Instead of “May Be” after it was pointed out to me that the research does not appear to be definitive.
