Scoop: Border officials project 13,000 child migrants in May has just been published by Axios.

There were 3,300 in December, and I then wrote Should Schools Start Preparing For A Wave Of Unaccompanied Minor Refugees?

This could be be a repeat of the 2014 crisis, when over 60,000 unaccompanied minors came to the United States (see What was the 2014 child and family migrant crisis?).

Every unaccompanied minor who entered our school then ended up dropping out, and I’m eager to hear of teachers and schools who had more success. So many were suffering from great trauma, and had not been in school for many years….

Our school leadership is meeting Friday to try and make sure we do better this time around….
