Many bloggers have been anticipating for years that Google would shut down Feedburner, probably the main supplier of RSS feeds to bloggers and others, as well as the tool used by many bloggers for email subscriptions.

For that reason, many of us had our RSS feeds for newer subscribers changed and I’ve always used Feedblitz for email subscriptions to this blog.

The shoe finally dropped today with Google announcing that Feedburner would stop managing email subscriptions.

Happily, though, they are continuing their RSS feeds, which I think would have been the bigger problem for many.

It will be an inconvenience for those bloggers who have been having readers use Feedburner to subscribe, but it’s manageable.  I’d strongly encourage people to move over to Feedblitz.

Feedburner’s announcement will have zero impact on readers and subscribers to this blog.
