What are the favorite pop songs you use with ELL Newcomers?
Pop songs are obviously more engaging to older students than the typical simple English songs that work with younger ones.
The problem is that, though it is fairly easy to find pop songs with choruses that work with Newcomers, it’s not so easy to find full songs that are accessble.
Mine are:
Hello, Goodbye
You Are So Beautiful
The Lion Sleeps Tonight
I’m eager to hear suggestions to add to my list!
Here’s an excellent suggestion:
Three Little Birds by Bob Marley is great for ELLs (note: the Elizabeth Mitchell version is also useful for students to recognize individual words) https://t.co/eE0XLfRVy7

I have also used the site lyricstraining.com.
Definitely Mr. Morton. Past tense. Love. Story. Rap. Has it all. https://eltbuzz.com/video/?video=mr-morton. VOA has a nice list https://resources.eltbuzz.com/3Gj
