Our school will be having a summer school class that will be a combined Newcomer/ Intermediate English Language Learners one.

I won’t be teaching it – I’ll be at home taking naps between finishing the second edition of our ESL/ELL Teacher’s Survival Guide and playing basketball and Pickleball.

Each year for the past many years, one of my student teachers handles summer school.  I’m hoping that happens this year, too, and we should also have a bilingual aide.

I quickly sketched out a draft plan on how to do a multi-level class without the teacher losing his/her mind, and you can download it here.

It might end-up being co-taught and, if that’s the case, they can still keep the same schedule, and the independent time for each group can have more direct instruction and support.

Take a look and let me know what you think -especially with suggestions on how it can be improved.

I’m adding this post to The Best Resources On Teaching Multilevel ESL/EFL Classes.
