I’ve posted a lot about the CommonLit site, and it’s on many “Best” lists.

They’ve just unveiled what they are calling their CommonLit 360 Curriculum.

Here’s how they describe it:

6 units per grade, for grades 6-10,
Full coverage: reading, writing, discussion, vocabulary, and grammar,
High-interest literature with timely themes that kids love,
Extremely user-friendly technology,
…all free with a CommonLit teacher account.

These units are multi-week, and they also have shorter ones.

They look pretty engaging.

If you don’t have an English curriculum that you are required to use, or if you allowed to supplement it, you could do far worse than using some of these units and then combine them with The New York Times Learning Network writing curriculum.

These two certainly seem better than a lot of off-the-shelf programs I’ve seen.  And they’re both completely free.

I’m adding this post to The Best Places To Find Free (And Good) Lesson Plans On The Internet.
