I’ve previously posted HERE ARE GUIDELINES, REPORT FORMS, & “FOCUS QUESTIONS” FOR OUR PEER MENTORS.

“Focus’ questions are the ones mentors are supposed to…focus on during that particular session with their mentee.

Here are a few additional ones I’ve added since that post originally appeared:

How is the pandemic affecting you and your family?  How are you feeling?

What is the best thing about school this year and why?  What is the worst thing about school this year and why?

What classes are they taking or do they want to take next year?

How would your teachers describe you? Are you pleased by your answer?  Would you like them to say something different about you?  What would you have to do to make that happen?

How would your different family members describe you? Are you pleased by your answer?  Would you like them to say something different about you?  What would you have to do to make that happen?

How would your friends describe you? Are you pleased by your answer?  Would you like them to say something different about you?  What would you have to do to make that happen?

What are three things you worry about sometimes?  OR What things cause you stress?

What is the best piece of work you have ever produced in a classroom?  What made it so good?  What can teachers do to support you doing work like that again?

What is the best classroom experience they ever had, and what made it so good.  What did they do to make it happen, and what did their teacher do to support them make it happen?

Feel free to suggest more!

I’m adding this post to The Best Resources On The Value & Practice Of Having Older Students Mentoring Younger Ones.
