A big new meta-analysis of Social Emotional Learning programs has just been published and, to no teacher’s surprise, it’s found it to be very effective (see the above textbox).

Jill Barshay at The Hechinger Report, who does generally excellent reviews of the latest research, has written a review of the research that seems a little “off” to me.

Though all the facts she cites support the study’s conclusions, she nevertheless strikes a skeptical tone.

Notwithstanding that tone, the research can certainly be helpful to teachers as SEL is under attack in some quarters.

I’m adding this info to The Best Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Resources.
