Periodically, some in the media start blaming single parents for the challenges their families face and claim that marriage is the answer to most woes.
Some teachers are not averse to blaming families (usually, though not always, privately) for the challenges their students are experiencing, and sometimes buying into this mindset.
But it’s damaging and its wrong.
