This is a hot mess of a policy proposal: Taxpayers who donate to voucher programs would get 100% of their money back when they file their taxes. That means the tax break for giving to voucher programs would dwarf tax incentives for giving to churches, hospitals, food banks & every other charity.

I think there’s a lot of value to ‘grading for equity.’ At the same time, I have always been baffled by amount of time, energy and angst that is brought to discussions about grading. Perhaps it’s simplistic, but my policy of “being fair, flexible and understanding” has worked for my students & me
