Memory and comprehension of narrative versus expository texts: A meta-analysis (NOT behind a paywall) is a new study reinforcing many previous ones – that people remember more information when told in the context of stories.

As the authors point out:

This finding has implications for any domain in which acquiring and retaining information is important.
