In addition, look for our new book on teaching ELLs, which was published in the Spring of 2018 and learn about our next book. PLUS, we’ve just submitted the manuscript for the second edition of The ESL/ELL Teacher’s Survival Guide! That book will be out in early 2022.

Here are this week’s choices:

How TK can help students learning English as a second language is from Ed Source.

‘We Don’t Have Any Talented Students:’ Confronting English Language Learners’ Drastic Under-Representation in Elementary Gifted & Talented is from The 74.

How Brains Seamlessly Switch between Languages is from Scientific American.

ELL teacher Kay Elizabeth has given me permission to share an incredible Google Doc she has created about adapting popular games for ELLs. I’m adding it to The Best Ideas For Using Games In The ESL/EFL/ELL Classroom.

English Learner Progress Dips during Pandemic is from Language Magazine.

Actively Learn lets users automatically translate its materials. It just uses Google Translate, so it’s not ideal, but it could be helpful for students using its Science, English and Social Studies materials. I’m adding it to The Best Multilingual & Bilingual Sites For Math, Social Studies, & Science.
