Voice Thread

Posted at 12:07 am under talking, web 2.0

There has been a lot written in blogs over the past few months about Voice Thread.  It’s a great online tool that allows you to create a slideshow and easily provide audio narration.  For obvious reasons, this is an excellent speaking exercise for English Language Learners.

You can upload photos, or you can access an individual Flickr account.  It would be much easier for teachers and much more accessible to students, though, if it allowed you to search Flickr through the use of “tags” (the categories of photos you’re looking for).  The best online slideshow web applications I’ve blogged about in the past — Mixercast and Image Loop – let you do that.

I wrote to them with that request a few weeks ago, but haven’t received a response.

I’ve placed the link to Voice Thread on my Examples of Student Work page under Student Slide-Shows.
