The Sacramento Bee ran a good and substantial story today on our effort to provide home computers and DSL service to immigrant families.  This Family Literacy Project has been quite successful.

Students were quite excited today to see their pictures and read their quotes in the story.   It’s well-written and gives an excellent sense of the project.

The initial article contained one inaccuracy that they have since corrected in the online version and will correct in tomorrow’s hard copy edition — family members have to spend one hour each day learning English on our website, not one hour each week as the original article indicated.  I was impressed and surprised at how quickly it was fixed.
