Because of some scheduling issues because our school has gotten two hundred more students this year than we had anticipated, I volunteered to convert one of my Beginner/Intermediate ELL classes into a Geography class.
I’ve taught Geography to this level of ELL’s in the past, though it’s been a few years. I think Geography is a great vehicle for language acquisition, and I’ll be posting more about it here in the future.
Now, I’ve got to figure out what I’m teaching tomorrow, which is the first day of the change….
Good luck Larry. When I graduated teachers’ college it was with a specialization in Geography… must be what kept me traveling.
Don’t forget the wonderful, tried and true. http://www.gatm.org.uk/?page_id=59
