Teaching English Learners: What Does the Research Say? is by Jana Echevarria and provides a great short and sweet summary of the…research. I’m adding it to The Best Ways To Keep-Up With Current ELL/ESL/EFL News & Research.

ESL-Bits has long been on the The Best Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced English Language Learner Sites list.  However, thanks to Valentina Gonzalez, I learned that they have dramatically increased the resources they have available, and they look great!

Of course, every year of VirtuEL, the annual free online video professional development program that takes place on June is great, and this year’s was no different.  And you can watch it at anytime now!

Food Map is a nice lesson from ELTcation.

A new interactive “data story” from the Department of Education “presents the most recent data on EL academic proficiency for states and selected urban school districts. It also provides state-level EL high school graduation rates and insights into changes in EL graduation and proficiency rates over time.” I’m adding it to The Best Ways To Keep-Up With Current ELL/ESL/EFL News & Research.

The Internationals Network for Public Schools: Educating Our Immigrant English Language Learners Well is from Stanford.

Storybooks Canada and World Stories are two sites with many bilingual and multilingual stories. I particularly liked World Stories because it has bilingual books in English/Pashto, and those are hard to find. I’m adding them to The Best Multilingual & Bilingual Sites For Learning English.

The Song Activity Factory has lots of song-related ELL lessons. I’m adding it to The Best Music Websites For Learning English.

The English Channel is a new-to-me site created by the British Council. It has interactive videos designed to teach English.

ELL2.0 is an amazing site created by Irina McGrath, Ph.D and Michelle Shory, Ed.S.

QSSSA: More than Turn & Talk is by Valentina Gonzalez.

Here’s a wild Escape The Room feature created by teachers to support PD done through our book, The ELL Teacher’s Toolbox. I’m adding it to other free resources from the book.
